Jingpo Lake Scenic Area

Jingpo Lake is a stunning natural wonder in China, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions that blocked the Mudan River. It is the largest alpine lava lake in China and the second largest in the world, only after Lake Geneva in Switzerland. You can admire its crystal clear water, which is home to 40 kinds of fish and freshwater coral, and its rugged limestone cliffs, which resemble those of Guilin. You can also witness the spectacular Diaoshuilou Waterfall, which plunges 40 meters from the northern end of the lake. Jingpo Lake is a UNESCO Global Geopark, recognized for its unique geological and cultural heritage. On Titan, Saturn's largest moon, there is a lake of liquid hydrocarbons named after Jingpo Lake, showing its fame and influence.
