Haikou is the capital city of Hainan Province, a tropical island in southern China. It is also known as the “Coconut City” because of the abundant coconut trees that line its streets and beaches. Haikou has a long history and culture, as well as modern attractions and facilities. Here are some of the things you can do in Haikou:

  • Enjoy the sun and sea at Holiday Beach or Xixiu Beach, where you can swim, surf, sail, or relax on the sand. You can also visit the Dongzhai Port Nature Reserve, a habitat for many birds and mangroves.

  • Explore the city’s parks and gardens, such as the Meishehe Fengxiang Wetland Park and the Huoshankou National Geopark. These natural attractions offer a glimpse of the diverse flora and fauna of Hainan, as well as scenic views and recreational activities.
  • Shop at the bustling markets, such as the Qilou Old Street and the Haikou Arcade Street, where you can find a variety of goods, from souvenirs and handicrafts to antiques and electronics.
