Qitaihe is a prefecture-level city in Heilongjiang province. Lying in the eastern part of Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China and covering an area 6,223 square kilometers, Qitaihe is the smallest city among 13 prefecture and prefecture-level cities in this province. Qitaihe also has the second smallest population of the cities in Heilongjiang.

But don't let its size fool you! Qitaihe is a city of champions, with seven Olympic gold medals in short track speed skating won by its natives. Qitaihe is proud of its winter sports heroes, who have brought glory and honor to their hometown and their country. Qitaihe has also transformed itself from a coal-mining town to a modern city with a high-speed rail station, a museum and a state-of-the-art ice rink. Qitaihe is a shining example of how a small city can achieve big dreams!
