North Lake Park

North Lake Park, also known as Changchun Beihu National Wetland Park, is a serene oasis located in the Erdao District of Changchun, China. This expansive park, covering an area of 11.97 square kilometers, was officially opened to the public on July 28, 2012, after a significant investment and development period that began in 2010. It is a place where nature and modern amenities blend harmoniously, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the tranquility of wetlands while enjoying comfortable facilities. The park is divided into two main areas: the inner lake area and the outer river area, with the inner lake being the original flood discharge area of the Yitong River, which has been transformed into a beautiful wetland park.

Visitors can explore a variety of landscapes, including vast waters, pavilions, and water rafts that are scattered throughout the park. It's a habitat for diverse wildlife, including swans and wild ducks, which adds to the park's natural charm. The greening area of the park is impressive, with over 3.15 million square meters that feature a wide variety of willow trees, such as the White Bark Willow, Golden Weeping Willow, and the Dragon Beard Willow, among others. In total, the park boasts 186 varieties of trees, amounting to 69,700 individual trees, and 144 varieties of shrubs with a total of 15,300 plants.

For those looking to enjoy the park's beauty, there are plenty of activities to partake in. Boating on the lake is a popular choice, allowing visitors to glide across the calm waters and take in the scenic views. An e-bus service is available for those who prefer a leisurely tour around the park, and for the more adventurous, there are areas designated for swimming. The park is also equipped with numerous shops offering snacks and water, ensuring that visitors can stay refreshed during their exploration.

One of the park's highlights is a magnificent temple located near the main entrance, which is worth a separate visit due to its vast territory and cultural significance. Photography enthusiasts will find North Lake Park a paradise for capturing the beauty of nature, the intricate design of the temple, and the lively atmosphere of the park.

North Lake Park is not just a summer destination; it's a year-round attraction. Each season brings its own unique beauty, making it a perfect spot for repeat visits. Whether you're alone, with friends, or family, North Lake Park offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life and a chance to reconnect with nature. It stands as a testament to the successful integration of urban development with ecological preservation, providing a sustainable and enjoyable environment for both residents and tourists alike.
