Nebraska is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. It became the 37th state on March 1, 1867. It is bordered by six other states: South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. Nebraska has a land area of about 77,220 square miles (200,000 square kilometers) and a population of over 1.9 million people. The capital of Nebraska is Lincoln, and the largest city is Omaha. Nebraska is known for its agriculture, especially corn and cattle, and its natural attractions, such as the Platte River and the Sandhills.
